Writely Rogue strives to provide comprehensive communication strategies based on an individual’s neurological and motor profile. This includes a variety of effective Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) techniques including text-based approaches.
We encourage families to participate and offer coaching for those interested in becoming communication partners. Social engagement and relationship building are supported through group gatherings and nonspeaker-friendly outings and events.

BOLDLY PRESUMING COMPETENCE
Writely Rogue believes all individuals deserve to be heard and included. Presuming competence is the foundation of all support strategies offered here. Acknowledging prior knowledge and language development exist even in the absence of speech development. The ability to speak does not reflect one’s ability to comprehend the world around them. With the right tools and support, a more adequate representation of cognitive ability can be demonstrated.

All children develop language,
not all develop speech.

But Lindsey has opened up this whole world of communication for him. Lindsey is a gifted practitioner who is both intuitive in her approach and highly skilled in augmented and alternative communication and spelling methodologies.
